Because I'm a fan of her writing and her art, check out this offer from Hazel Dooney. More importantly, though, I think artists need to keep tabs on her pioneering efforts at changing the way we market our work.

Thank you for introducing us to Hazel Dooney. I can't say I love her work, but I do love her writing and honest take on the art world. I'm learning so much.

I agree, thanks for introducing her to us. I like Hazel Dooney's writing and intelligence. But this question nags at me, and yeah, maybe it's obvious and rhetoric, is Hazel Dooney's massive success a product of art or branding? And if an artist is drawn to paint beautiful pictures and not make statements about sexuality in the media,or titillating, in your face subject matter, how well can you really brand that?

Agreed and agreed. Personally, I'm just selfishly glad that she's going to bat for artists, particularly women, because she has the clout to make a difference, no matter how she got there.

Really interesting. I've never heard of her before but her take on the art world is fascinating.
