cancel that
What was I thinking? In an effort at owning up to my forays into self-abasement, I won't delete the last post, but the draw is now a race: first person to comment over at my Small Art blog gets the prints then that post gets deleted. Time to quit seeking distractions and make art instead. My new guide to art and ethics is not WWJD but WWDD? (What Would Dooney Do?) Today, anyway. Tomorrow will probably be WWHD? (What Would Homer [Simpson] Do?)

I hear ya sister, I was so close to deactivating my facebook account yesterday to do NOTHING but art (and cook, clean, pay bills, raise kids and puppies, etc. *sigh*), but until someone comes up with a cyber methadone to gradually wean myself from all this social networking, I'm keeping it. I'd miss too many online friends.
So how does that balance of making and marketing online really happen?
Beats me, but I sure feel useless when I come across people, be they artists or dog trainers or holders of moral high cards or whatevah, whose focus is so laser sharp that they can only succeed. And until basement artists have social outlets more stimulating than talking to the dog while FBing (not naming any names here), I'm stuck, too.
How about WWAD? Who cares what Dooney, or Homer or anyone with moral high cards would do - what would YOU do?
It's your life, and I do agree there's no need for demeaning yourself, but if your life is not going where you want it to, make the changes you know need to be made. On the other hand, if you're happy, keep rolling.
And remember, it's usually revolution in our minds, but evolution in putting it all into place. The drama in our minds is just that - in our minds. Only you can decide WAWTD - what Andrea WANTS to do.
WWAD? Go back to bed probably. She should have done that yesterday actually. It's been one of those weeks: self doubt and second guessing in bucketloads. Thanks for the pep talk, Laure. I needed it.
OK, so who won?
Dinah: Hayden.
I'm all mired in self-doubt these days today, so let's join hands and have a little pity party, shall we? :-)
