adam's art
On Saturday afternoon the other artist in the house (13 year old Adam) and I did a little creative experiment. We took two of his pencil drawings (one of Egyptian god, Set, and one of his own invention) and did a mixed-media drawing each on black. This is the first time he's tried working like me, so I was really interested to see the result.
And here's the artist, looking all reflective and deep, taking a break yesterday at Gold Creek.

Oh, yeah! He's got it. What a cool looking guy.
Yep. Looks like a fun afternoon for both. What did Adam use to get that soft background?
I do believe he's my son's twin.
Deborah: I had to show him your comment. He loved it.
Dinah: He very tenaciously used a little gel pen and lots of elbow grease. :)
Citizen: I've had the same impression over at your blog!
Excellent job Adam!
very nice work and a nice looking kid.
Ellen and Jafa: I'll pass it along.
Sheesh! I look at your work and think I could never do that. Your son must have inherited the ability. He did a really great piece. The pig man is icky/scary. But he's not -- movie star cute he is! Why am I talking like Yoda? I think I better get to bed!
How fun that you and Adam worked together - and yes, he does look the part of the artist. He has some amazing hair too!
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!
YOu two can have a duel show!
Jana: Ha! As for me, I find myself talking in lolcat these days: Good son. Ur doin it wrong.
Cynthia: It is pretty nice hair and he's getting a bit peacocky about it, too. :) His brother of the wavy dark red hair is actually jealous.
Michelle: One day...
Yeah, that lolspeech is sortof taking over. :-)
I think he did terrifically well! Very impressed (srsly). My son will on occasion (maybe a couple of times a year) pull out paints and get artistic. My daughter wouldn't be caught dead... sigh...
Enjoy. Appreciate!
Kthxbai!
That's very cool - you must be so proud!
Good job. I actually think the pig man looks kinda sad and apologetic, like he doesn't really want to be a servant of evil. Adam completely nailed the process. He definitely inherited your talent (and he looks so much like you)
Tara: It's funny -- both my brothers and I loved to draw and two of us became artists so I half expected both of mine to be interested. I'm glad one is at least!
Heather: Always! :)
Ellen: You're right about poor Pigman. Adam actually draws a lot like my brother, the storyboard artist.
lucky son, lucky mom! what a great experience!
