three years old
Happy Birthday to us! Three years ago today I made my first blog post and I can't begin to tell you what a fantastic dimension it's added to my life. Thank you to everyone who has made it so. I'd love to list who you are, and why, but only have a few minutes to make this post.
Those who do know who you are, and why, may now just smile and nod. I feel like an Old Blogger, though I can't be that sophisticated and experienced because I'm still using, well, Old Blogger.
There's an extra dimension to this print draw: a pair-o-prints. You have to choose a pair and they have to match, i.e. you can't choose one bird print and one Urban Myth photo. I'm the boss and I make the rules, so there. It's kind of an unusual selection, not the most representational of my work, so I forgive you if you disappear without leaving a comment.
If you'd like to enter the draw, just leave a comment and choose either (a) painting prints, (b) digital bird prints or (c) photos. The first two groups are prints on archival paper, mounted on panel. The birds are the biggest at 10" x 8" and the prints from paintings are 6" x 6". The photos are on 8 1/2" x 11" archival drawing paper, unmounted. I will make the draw a week from today.

Good lord! I'm first!
Hmmm...I do so love your paintings, Andrea, but I'm also taken with your photos and, having the smokin' chimneys, I think I'll toss my hat in for a companion for those. That's C for me.
I know you have been (are?) busy elsewhere lately, but I, like all your readers, hope you'll stick with "Colouring Outside." Thanks for all the entertainment you've given us over the years. Oh! And top marks on sustainability!
I'm usually just a lurker, but this is enough to bring me out into the open to comment.
I'd love the prints of the paintings! They're gorgeous - vibrant and colorful and full of life. I wish I was close enough to come see the gallery show.
Congrats on 3 years of blogging!
Happy birthday Andrea! I have you in my links and my friends love your work!

prefer the painting prints... the penguin even more!
A big hug! wonderful blog, beautiful paintings and pictures, interesting subjects always
So glad you are still blogging - you are probably my oldest blogging friend (though who is counting ;-)
And you are right to still use old blogger... I quite regret having moved! Especially since I can't get my comment boxes to be expanding any more... whilst yours is.
Three years deserves three wishes! What would they be?
Love the blog, and the prints of the paintings. Keep blogging, I love to see what's new with you. And I LOVE your work!

Hi, I just wandered in to your blog while browsing and congratulations on your three year mark!! I recently started blogging and you're right. It's such a great way to vent and also find community within the comfort of your sweats.
ps I love the painting prints!
I check your blog every day, Andrea. As I think I've told you before, I just am crazy over your work. I love your bold colors and decisive lines. I just study each new piece for so long, I wish I could see them in person! My choice is prints of paintings. Keep on blogging!
Congratulations on three years and also on your upcoming show. I know how much time feeding a hungry blog can take. I'm glad you're still up to the challenge and providing mirth, beauty and amusement for your faithful fans. I love your paintings so much and so have to take a chance on what's behind door A. How generous to offer pairs.
I forgot to say which I'd prefer if I won in your draw... prints of the paintings please... and I hope I do win!

Jan: Done!
Albina: I love that you're still out there and still inspiring me, even if I am a little lax in my blog visiting these days.
Cynthia: Thanks so much and you know that your incredible energy and curiosity are an inspiration to me. I thought I was pretty good at those until I started reading your blog!
Ian: Thanks, buddy. I love that you have the courage to write whatever strikes you and hope to gain some of that same courage one day.
Daisies: Yay! I love it when someone does something different, like choosing a different pair. And it's been too long since I topped up the visual-spritual at your blog. Must visit after this.
Kathy: After three years it still thrills me to get a comment from someone new. Thanks for dropping by -- and commenting!
Deborah: Wow -- that is so encouraging and intimidating! (I sure wish I had something to blog every day but alas...) I like the sensitivity in your work.

Swampmo: Juicy, eh? Must be all that moiturizer I need now... :) So glad you're still sticking with me. You are my musical guru.

Hi Andrea
I would, of course, LOVE the painting ones!!
I am still alive- just crazy busy!
Congrats on the blogiversary, (or whatever...)
I will e-mail one of these days, soon.
P.S. Did another comment show up?By me? I think I may be doing something wrong.....I did try to leave one, on this post, earlier.
Belated birthday wishes! All the best to you, the one who makes the rules (you better believe it!), and your blog. It's beautiful, as are you and your art. Keep it up!
Look for me in a few days.....long trip to Angel Fire New Mexico, without internet access, like that really matters (just keep saying that, over and over.) Hope you have a pleasant weekend!
You're the Queen of the Blogging Scene, Andrea, and you bring this place to brilliant life.
Congrats, of course. Your thoughts and your images, no matter what kind, are always an inspiration.
Blog on!
Chris
Happy, happy, birthday, Andrea! I'm a relative newcomer to your blog, but, as you know, I love it.
Now if it isn't too late to enter the drawing, I absolutely adore those digital bird prints. Actually, I love everything you've posted here, but the finch and the wren are just so uppity (in a good way), both of them caught in a swirl of leaves and with their names swirled a bit too.
You are so generous to celebrate your birthday with a giveaway. We should be giving YOU presents.
Three whole years! I appreciate that you are consistantly a Blogger of quality. Sometimes that comes in the form of a well thought out post on a topic you are interested in (or wrestling with), and sometimes it comes as a list of fabulous links on days when you are of few words. It truly is an accomplishment Andrea. I hope to be leaving a comment a year? two? three? from now :-)
Toss my name in the bird pile :-)
Andrea, happy anniversary! Yours is one of the first blogs I read (first I ever commented on) and always one of the very best. More importantly, I'm sooo happy to call you my friend. Cheers to many more years of creating and writing.
Joanne: Good to hear from you (only once :)! I am a little behind on my commissions. We'll connect soon.
Molly: I would LOVE to be in NM with you right now. Enjoy it twice as much instead, OK?
WW: You're the best -- thanks.
San: In some cultures you give presents on your birthday. I'm just being multicultural, but NEXT year... :)
Nadine: Birdies it is -- and now I'm feeling some performance anxiety! Thanks, though -- I truly appreciate it.
Ellen: Thanks and I must admit that I'm pleased as anything to find a smart art-mom friend in this region! We're a rare comm-ODD-ity. And in 2 1/2 years I hope to be able to say the same to you.
Congrats Andrea, you know I love your work and what you share. :)
Happy third, Andrea! And many happy returns. And incidentally, I love your 'space' - Old Blogger or not. (why fix it if it ain't broke?)
Yes, please, enter me in the draw. I love your paintings, so I'd have to go for the painting prints. Crossing fingers!
Great day In The Morning..Three Years is a Lifetime out here!
Like the rest of your fans I love your work and the interpretations of why you do the things that you do.
Thank You for keeping the bar nice and high and for keeping a sharp eye out for all of those other interesting sites.
Here's to many more!
Huzzah!!!
Denise: Thanks, Denise. You're an oldie, like me.
Alda: Done. I have thought so often about switching to a different format but it requires blocks of time (not to mention courgae) that I haven't got right now.
Donn: Thanks, HE. I suspect you'll be at this forever, too, like me. Your blog is so very unique it's always a pleasure to visit.
Happy Bloggie Birthday! It's A for me, I am head over heels in love with your paintings.
Am having a day to indulge myself and revel in my favorite blogs. I pick the paintings. Have already Netflixed Once, based on your rec,and have brought up the foot news story.
