abandoned farm buildings

This is a stone lithograph I did a long time ago of abandoned farm buildings in Saskatchewan. This week's Illustration Friday theme (Sacrifice) made me want to 'age' it further in Photoshop, particularly as the original copied image is such poor quality.

Beautiful and craggy, love the shadows and texture. How are your large pieces coming?

This is an intriguing image and your photoshopped version really works and makes it all look even more abandoned or sacrificed. So sad what's happened to family farming.

We are thinking along the same lines today! I love how you have done this farm scene. It just looks old and forgotten.

Age and sacrifice - very clever!

Lovely pic too.

BTW I've been having ISP problems - if you have emailed me recently its been lost - they managed to lose 7 gig of messages! (Not all for me luckily!) BUt it should be okay now and my emails might get out too... but we'll see... its been a longer enforced retreat that I'd expected ;-)

The flat arrangement of the buildings on the landscape makes me think of Japanese prints. I love how you've worked with the "distressed" look - it gives it the feeling of something old and rare. Very nice!

This is very cool and looks so antiqued. I think it is great just as is. I too love old farms and barns.

abandoned buildings are sad, when you think of all the work that went into building them and all that went on inside.
