flavour
It's been several weeks since I participated in Illustration Friday, and chances are I won't have the time in the next week to do anything new, so here's something from the archives.
Last night I saw Protean Picasso at the Vancouver Art Gallery. It's an exhibition of mostly prints (etchings and lithos) and drawings, with a few paintings. It occurred to me that since Picasso was so prolific for so many decades, and there are thousands of his prints out there, that a hundred galleries could mount a similar show, all at the same time, and there would be work left over.

wow, i like this one: simle and rich. and the colors are awesome!
There's nothing quite like a good archive to fill in those gaps of available time. What seems to be keeping you so busy? I bet I missed something important! :D
Oh I love this - it really glows.
Hi Andrea, and welcome back. Nice painting. I especially like how you've been able to use green and red without invoking Christmas.
nice color mixing .. was it difficult or challenging to get the right egg shape?
beautiful study... a WOW! to be more exact... :)
Hi andrea! this is so beautiful! love the colours, shape and idea. Which came first? teehee. Hope the work for the show is ooozing from your fingertips, just like picasso!
Eggcellent flavour, Andrea!
Beautiful as usual. I love the soft colors and contours. The egg almost glows.
The others have commented on the colour, I like the form.

Simple yet perfect. You are zen.
Great picture, especially the choice of colours!
Agree the form is what gives this image its wholeness! Beautiful submission and I love googey eggs :)
Love how you used complimentary colors and the contrast in shape and line.
Beautiful!
Hope keeping busy is a good thing. ;)
I really like this for the color play and the many details that take this from being a flat color and shape study to a piece with many subtle details. There's so much texture in your strokes, and the reflection on the egg is beautiful. I also really like the particular shades of red and green you chose.
Absolutely wonderful color!
Thanks all.
Mick: preparing for a show, dealing with a virus, Christmas, etc. The usual. :)
Nabeel: Not so difficult. I think. Actually, I can't remember. :)
This is actually painted on a ceramic tile. At least it was -- I think I lost it... (time to clean up my studio)
Merlinprincesse: Can I quote you? I love being zen! :)
This is beautiful. The colors are stunning!
Wow....just beautiful...I have been by several times in the last couple of days.
This one is great.
Such a vibrant piece. And eggs are not easy to do! Well done. Sounded like a great show.
Everyone's said it above: great textures, colors, lines. There's a good egg.
