What a great deconstruction of the African savanna, you done it so well! I keep looking at the one on the left, seeing connections between the squares crisscrossing all over
I love your style, Andrea! Are you scanning these in to play around with color as a way to prep for a painting, or are you thinking about printing these?
I'm always inspired by your constant playing with medium and style and yet you manage to retain a distinctly Andrea Pratt look. I really like these. I spent a year and a half in Africa in my early 20's... These brought back some memories that were in need of dusting off. I cried when I saw my first wild giraffe :-)
Ilva: Thanks -- Africa is one of those subjects that endlesssly fascinates me.
Cynthia: What a great idea -- translating these into paint! If I had a printer I'd try printing them up and mounting them on cradled panel. But I need to make some money to get a printer. The classic Catch 22.
Nadine: Oh I am *so* jealous. Africa is on my life's to-do list. And thank you for pointing out the consistency in style. I'm trying hard to create an illustration style that matches my painting and monochromatic-on-black drawings, so that was just what I wanted to hear!
