I'm not back
The summer from hell (OK, maybe quasi-heck) continues. My ISP 'broke' on Wednesday afternoon and didn’t come up again until last night. Seems any emails from late Wednesday to Friday afternoon have been irretrievably lost. Not that I've been able to get near my laptop anyway. On Wednesday my back went out so severely (and I've never had back problems) that I have been vertical for only very short periods of time since. That was the day my husband went out of town on business. Excellent timing! I have so much codeine in my system right now that I'm manically trying to do the necessities before it wears off, so I won't be back 'til who-knows-when. To make matters worse I discovered HGTV. It's perfect viewing when you have the attention span of a gnat.
Back ASAP.

Wishing you nothing but bon sante, my talented and lovely friend.
gnat...I will have to google that word...Hhehhehe...:) Take care! (MP is doing the Supper)...
wishing you a speedy recovery to vertical.
Wow! I constantly tell my husband that I have the attention span of a gnat...who knew there were two of us!
A drunk hit the car I was riding in and I had a concussion (25 ys ago). It has come back to bite me in the butt! Hang in there...eventually your back will be better and you won't need the drugs. But if you ever need another gnat...I'm here for you!

Ooh! Cyber-sympathy from Down Under.
Sorry to hear this. Take care and don't hurry. If possible.
A comforting hug for you, Andrea :-)!
Take care of yourself. This too shall pass.
HGTV hmmm now you are hooked. ;)
Feel better, Andrea! Consider this your dose of "heck" for a very, very long time, hopefully forever:> Hugs to you...
Get well!
I am sorry to hear about your back. It seems that you need a few days completely to yourself. I am thinking of you and sending all sorts of postive vibes your way.
They're bad for the stomach, but great for an ailing back: Robaxicet or Robaxisal.
Don't take TOO many.
(Take it from someone who's had a disc removed from their back after bouts of sciatica).
Oh dear. Husbands have a knack for that, don't they. I hope you are up and at 'em soon. Don't push it, even on the good stuff. You will prolong the healing! Stay in bed and find another channel. Get well.
It never rains, but it... you know...
So sorry.
Bet better soon.
You and your ISP get better soon, Andrea.
oh honey ... i am so sorry about your back .. hope you get better soon!!
when i was on bedrest, hgtv became my best friend, sad but true ... sending you love, xox
Oh, Andrea, HGTV say it ain't so, it is the channel from hell. My wife watches it religiously. Hopefully, you won't get into the soaps. As one who has thrown his back out uncountable times I direct a hot shower stream, as hot as I can get it, on my back. Then whenever I am sitting I keep my faithful heating pad with me.
Sorry to hear you are under the weather. Take your time to get well. Slow healing pays off. I had the mother and father of all violent ankle sprains last Spring. I rested (religiously) for about a week. What should have been a six week recovery was halved. Please do rest well! Enjoy your tv! (I got addicted to old episodes of Sex and the City, watching an entire season back to back on one occasion ;)
gee hope you get well soon.. and oh HGTV is pretty cool.. good for a laid down couch potato like me! hehe..
well summer's over and we all need to get over it some time.. 8) next stop.. spring!
i'm thinking of you, andrea. move, think and live slowly for the next few days...,,
ooh man. feel better girley. soon!
and that nasty ISP, slap!
Backs are tricky things because Mother Nature decided to get us off of all fours and walking upright to free up our hands.
This was a real gift, especially for the first artistic ape who could now throw poo against a big rock and then stand back, put her hand on her chin, and admire her work.
Before long the others would come over to see what she was staring at and in that moment the ART Gallery was created.
One admirer would hoot "I see four dogs playing poker" and another would say "I see an old lady in a rocking chair".
Don's listen to WW!
Score goals not drugs.
Hope you are better soon. I do so love watching your painting take life.
Feel better soon my friend!
Andrea - have been so caught up with work I've not been keeping up with blogs ... sincerely wishing you a speedy recovery. Very best wishes from the land of fire & ice!
hey andrea, i looked myself up tonight and found you. interesting reading about you on the other side of the world with the same name. pratt is quite uncommon. hope your feeling better, while you are having the summer from hell, we're having the winter from hell in australia. no rain in the driest continent....i love your work. look forward to reading more about you.
Hey Grrrl, I hope you are feeling better! You have been given an award over at my blog...check it out. :)
In case anyone's looking ~ I'm back in the saddle. Thank you for all these comments and words of encouragement that meant so much to me while I was flat on me arse, believe me. Now I'm working frantically to catch up around here but hope to be blogging again after Labour Day. (And Andrea from Australia -- there's another one of us who lives in California and I've met her! We met the same way!)
Andrea when you are ready, there is an award waiting for you at my blog!
