Check out the work of another brilliant mixed-media artist here, my friend Caroline. She doesn't do anywhere near enough of these to satisfy my voracious appetite. Regular helpings of her work and life can be found here.
As for me, I think the cold weather has affected my painting:

I really admire both of your works and it's cool how you featured Caroline! Hope all is well with you and stay warm and fuzzy! Love your new penguin paintings!
Your new Penguin paintings are so much fun - I love these ! Your friends mixed media works are great. The one entitled - If I were a color I'd be painted by a Fish, it went something like that I think ?! Anyway it's really quite interesting, I love her colors.
Cold weather affects the way I write. It makes my finger joints stiffen.
Andrea - thank you once again for encouraging me! For me they are power pictures and there are only so many I can do - one a week for a while and then I need a rest!
I love your penguins - we are having a penguin themed Christmas here - I already bought the crackers!
I agree, your penguins are beautiful and you have a very personal style.
The paintings seem to be reliefs.
Seeing all the penguin pics together makes me wish I could afford all three! Sigh. :-)
Love the penguin serious!! and awesome collage art!
Sweet, beautiful little penguins. Isn't it odd how a creature that only lives in the southern hemisphere has entered global consciousness? Actually, not odd at all.
It's full moon tonight, let me go out forraging.
I came here because I read at Ces that you wrote : "So much happening over here, Ces! How will I ever catch up?" I thought "ah, another soul that can't follow at Ces-speed" but I was wrong : you are a miracle woman and artist yourself :-)
Val: Hi there. Good to hear from you. Must visit your blog...
Sheri: Caroline has a unique and quirky vision that is hugely appealing, isn't it?
Kyk: Yeah, right. What do YOU know from cold weather, eh?
Caroline: I *guess* I can wait for more. I just heard that there's a penguin movie (Happy Feet) making great box-office gains (and small children happy) out.
Cream: It's a relief to finish them. :)
Heather: ANother one to come then I really should take a break and go back to my big work.
Alina: You must visit all her Flickr folders...
Nomad: There's a creature (or two) that only lives in the southern hemisphere that has entered my consciousness, too. But enough about sedentary (as opposed to nomadic) South Africans...
Hildegard: Can I get you to tell that to my family? :)
Oh no! Another fantastic blog I'm going to have to look at regularly. I'm linking to all your wonderfulness.
andrea, ooooh. your new paintings manage to achieve great warmth despite the chill. i like all 3.
so nice to have you back. and i'm delighted to see comments by valgalart and hildegarde. what an interesting, creative group we all are. i may never watch tv again!
Juju: Likewise and I've done the same!
KJ: Valgal is a blog buddy from wa-a-ay back, but Hildegarde -- a new one. Such variety!
I like the fish motifs. And I will chk out your friend too.
Thats some really neat stuff!
Carolines' paintings are more like books or maps I think.
I saw a bit of a show about saving penquins from an oil spill the other night. I didn't realize how noisy they were when they were happy. They honked!! Your penquins look like they are taking tropical vacations! Lucky them!
Oh I love the penguins! You work is so vivid and beautiful.
Is Andrea in love with a South African? :-)
LDahl: I love maps -- must be part of why I love Carolyn's work!
Gautami, Perspective & Tiffinix: Thanks!
Nomad: I guess it sounds that way doesn't it, but it's not true -- I love THREE of them! :)
I love the penguins. This colourful work of yours is my favourite x
