photo mosaics

Just a couple of mosaics from photos I took while on holiday in the summer.

Need inspiration? Take a peek at the blog of very talented Pacific Northwest artist Angela Rockett (almost neighbours!) and the recent review of her solo show of abstract pieces in the VU Gallery at Western Washington University.

Lovely mosaics. I especially like the second one. Very painterly feeling.

And I especially like the first!

I'm also very impressed by Angela Rockett's work thanks for the pointer - I'd love to work on something as big as that spiral...

Andrea these are fabulous. They look better than the postcards. I love the photo of the flat irons and also of the lilly pads. Great work. Very classy and captivating.

Commenting here, but it's probably more to do with the post about marketing agnst, which seems to be the albatross around the neck of all artists, whether hobbyists (like me) or professionals.
Maybe the answer (for pros) is to get a good marketing agent. Then, of course, the agents commissions whittle away the sales $$...
I have only ever sold a couple of things, but I think if I did more I might start out with on-line sales. It's certainly putting your work where the world can see it.
I bought one of Sarah's paintings from her blog (Muddy Red)and am constantly finding other art I'd love to have.
So, while the purse sags lean against the belt, I'll just stop by every day and drool!

I've borrowed your colouring outside the lines badge (from your small art blog) to make a pictorial blogroll. Let me know if you'd rather I didn't use it this way.

Beautiful mosaics! Pity about the youtube post, however.

Nothing wrong with it, I'm sure, but when I connect to blogs with youtube posting from the office, everything goes haywire. I'm having the same trouble with my own blog at the moment. Sigh!!!!!
