cats

No, this isn't turning into another cats blog. I'm hoping to actually do a drawing based on this photo I took years ago and had lurking in my files (why did I scan it so small I wonder?) for Illustration Friday this week, but meantime, I had just enough time this morning to have some fun with Photoshop. And since the topic is cats I couldn't do just one now, could I? Here's the original:

Great kitty pic...hey everyone needs a cat blog!
Very fun filter/color views.

Stop by, I just listed some books I plan to read...let me know if you have read any of them.

That's a nifty trick they do, washing up and looking so delightful at the same time. You caught a perfect little pose, and I like the tiled montage you made. This would look great done in a Japanese style with ink and watercolor...there's something so understated, simple, spare, but eloquent and elegant (I'm still stuck on E is for...) about the composition. BTW, I'm loving your landscapes on blacvk paper. You create magic, Andrea...

I've always enjoyed cats myself and had a few who were real characters. One of them, "Q", was part siamese and did this little wash-up thing while chattering away the entire time! :D

Your cats have eaten too much catnip! They begin as if I'm looking through rose coloured glasses and then whooooah ... maybe it's me who ate too much!

I love the shapes and tones in your cat photo and the effects you used in Photoshop. It would make an intriguing painting.

I've always liked this photo so was happy to have a chance to play with it without altering it too much. This was my roommate's Siamese cat. I love the way Siamese "chatter".

I used to have a cat that looked just like that. Her name was Bubba and she was quite the character. She used to follow me and my boyfriend out to the Jaccuzzi just to hang out and poke around in the bushes while we had a soak! And, she would fetch balls like a dog.

I wish I could buy a t-shirt with the montage on it :). So Andy Warhol of you...
