alberta's centennial quarter

I admit that I haven't been looking for it, though I knew it was in circulation, so when I was paying for something today and spotted it almost by mistake I suddenly felt so proud of Michelle. (And have I mentioned that she builds a mean shipping crate, too?)

It's nice to put flesh to a name. We see the names of these specially designed coins all the time but never the person. Thanks for sharing your friend.

I remember that crate... at the time I thought "man, if someone put that much care and skill into the crate, the art must be awesome." It would just have to be wouldn't it? Wow, I wish my dad was still here, he would have gotten a big kick out of this!
Andrea, you're so cool to share!

Not sure how I missed that post...idahl is quite right with what she says about what must go into a crate that is so perfectly made!

I was just reading some of the comments from your Dec. 31 post that I missed, and I seem to have missed something else as well...Happy Belated Birthday! I'm sorry I missed it on the real day. I hope your day was grand.

Andrea, seems I've been away for too long. So here goes (blushing and completely off topic);
Hope you had a great bday... I bet it was a blast with it being New Years Eve as well. Talking about New Years... wishing you all the best and make 2006 the one that counts.

A couple of crossed wires there. My birthday isn't Dec. 31st, it's in January. I had been commenting on Reluctant Nomad's Jan. 3rd post about Jan. 23rd being the predicted worst day of 2006 -- and relieved that it didn't fall on my birthday!

This is how rumours get started, isn't it? :) Thanks for the birthday wishes, guys -- I'll bring them out in the day!

Great design! In the US we have so many different quarter designs now that they are not quickly and easily recognized as quarters. Sombody at the US Mint must be smoking the funny weed...
