advice for the season

The year is old, but the week is new. Time to get up, do what's necessary (while reading the news), have a bubble bath then head out with your buddy and your dog for a soul-satisfying trail walk. Stay out of the malls right now, or you may get suckered into buying something totally useless because the season makes you more than just a little desperate. Trust me, this will fascinate but it's a guarantee re-gift item.

(I took my own advice yesterday: photo taken while out with dog and camera on the trails that skirt Burns Bog.)

I can't resist torturing myself by going to the unbelievably packed malls, ostensibly to shop for gifts, but all too often coming home with bargains for me.

Looks like maybe you had some fog this weekend like we did?

Brian: yes, that's green (we have to get some value for our outrageous real estate values after all) and Nan: yes that's fog! We're in the same climatic zone.

Cream: great avatar. Very seasonal! :) It was pretty crisp that day: about 2 or 3C, but chillier in the fog patches.

This is one beautiful photograph, Andrea. I love the juxtapostion of the foggy, shadowed hillside with the sunlit road. I also got a kick out of the link to the "wonder vase" and your comment on re-gifting - LMAO! It also reminded me of an old joke where a slick salesman is selling instant water..."how does it work, you say? Just add water!" :D
