lost

I've been all over the place with my camera the past couple of days, doing lots of experimenting. While downtown yesterday in the driving rain I took this photo. After playing around with it a bit, it occurred to me that this might be what the world would look like to a child, alone in the city, and lost.

This is a terrific shot, Andrea; and, I love the idea behind it for this week's theme.

I like what you did with this; it has a great watercolor effect, there's a sense of motion, and a real feeling of looking through someone's eyes. I agree about this seeming like it could be from a child's perspective because the viewpoint is low and everything seems so much higher and out of reach. It works well for this topic!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Having a digital camera that I can "art around with" is a new experience for me. (And glad to hear from you Carla -- I'm not always the most tactful person, I know.)

i like the soft blur of this...to me it implies confusion...and i think the fact that folks are in coats adds to the scary part of being lost...maybe cuz i see the child is without the warmth of shelter...?

good work

There is a feeling of everyone moving too fast for me to keep up!

I spent the morning at a sporting event taking picture after picture hoping to capture something interesting. Cameras can be fun.

That is a great image and I think you are right about how this would look to a child. Thinking of that gives the photo a very melancholy feel.
