along came a spider

During the summer this attractive lady set up housekeeping beside our front door and just above a flowerbed. Her choice of an "upscale" neighbourhood has clearly paid off as her girth has expanded almost exponentially. Yesterday it occurred to me that she may not be there for much longer as winter isn't too far away, so out came the camera.

My, she looks juicy! How big is she? Maybe you should bring her indoors for the winter and let her eat whatever stray bugs sneak in to escape the cold...

Uhm... She and I can never be friends...let alone neighbours. One of us will have to go and given the real estate boom in So Africa...
Yep, life sucks when you are the smaller creature.

We've had a few of these milling about the condo. As a rule, I deny the ones inside any kind of a home, but leave the outsiders to fetch flies as they wish.
