true crime stories

East 1st, North Vancouver

From Rudy:

With a Halloween theme.

First, a guy with a serious Robin Hood complex...

Second, a ghoulish tale of brain robbery...
http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,16843292-13762,00.html
And, finally, the long-awaited sequel to The Return of the Mummy...

(I'd really like to see the surveillance footage of that last one.)

Your readers might like a new true-crime book "Trail of Feathers" by Robert Rivard, editor of the San Antonio Express-News. Rivard joined the search for a missing reporter in Mexico, and found similarities of startling proportions between himself and his lost writer ... and a Mexican justice system that, to this day, has not imprisoned the confessed killers.

My own review appears at http://underthenews.blogspot.com.

This is the kind of stuff that makes me want to root for the bad guys! Sort of...

I like your photo above. It's neat how the background in the middle has faded out to white; I see just a hint of building tops....or am I seeing it wrong? This one defnitely has that gritty feeling to it, both in the subject matter and the accentuation of the wall ands rubble textures. It looks like you're having such fun with your camera!

If you click on the photo there's an explanation in the Flickr comments for the white area in the background. I'm liking the textured effect, too. And my camera! I'm having so much fun in fact that I'm thinking of buying it an expensive handbag...
