the visible

The true mystery of the world is the visible, not the invisible.

I have some mysterious pans like that too - the result of my son and his girlfriend baking some cakes!! The mystery is who is going to wash 'em up...

It's amazing how something as prosaic as a drainer full of cooking things can look so beautiful as a design! I like the reflection you achieved on the bowl towards the front, and I like the contrast between the lights and the darks. It's both recognizable/realistic and abstract at the same time.

I looked around your website...Andrea, your work is so beautiful! I've never been to Vancouver, but it is on my list of places to go, and seeing your work in person will be on my list of things to do! I also saw a photograph of yours on Mick Mather's site...please share more of your photography with us! I like what he's done with it.

Well, I'm in my last week of summer break...hope I'll be able to keep up the art and the writing and the blogging once I'm back in school..

Take care,
Carla

Andy: the other mystery is how you're going to get them to clean up the invisible while they're at it!

Carla: Good luck getting back into it and I really hope you keep up with your blog, even if you have to take a little time out of your art. I was at a Staples yesterday, seeing the hordes of back-to-school shoppers and felt that familiar rise of anxiety -- but with nowhere to go this time!

Thank you so much for the kind words and I hope to see you on this coast one day! I have some interesting photos that Mick may manipulate. If he does, I'll post both the original photo and its reincarnation on this blog.
