Though it doesn't look like it yet, I'm in the home stretch. After I finish the house it's just large blocks of background colour. Any suggestions? Blue sky? Grey Seattle day? Stormy weather?
Looking good. that red underpainting really gives all the gray some punch. I'm with Dinah about staying away from grey, although a dark sky might be interesting.
very cool to see it all coming together but no clue on the sky, I am still stumped at how a red underpainting can work so well...acrylics are a whole other universe to explore!
Hmmm. Well, even though I'd love to place the house here in the gray northwest, I agree that we don't want too much gray, so maybe a sunny blue? We do get sunny days once in while, so it wouldn't be complete fiction.:) Looks like we might even have one today!
Good call. I didn't want the grey either (though I would've made it a "different grey"). Because the house is grey the underpainting needed to be lively but occasionally it's "too lively" and I have to go back into areas to reduce its impact. Example: compare today's garden gate to yesterday's. Lots of tweaking!

Might already be enough grey in it. But why not ask Angela?
She has been summoned! (Summonsed?)
summonded?
raspberry sunset colors?
