blogging like a girly man

This is way too cool not to share. First of all, read the NY Times article here, or the Guardian article here about the computer program developed by a team of Israeli scientists designed to identify the sex of the author based on gender differences in the way we use language when we write. Then cut a large piece of text from your blog (I removed any outside quotes) and paste it here.
I did this three times using my most recent entries and was clearly female twice and male once. I have always thought that I write in a fairly gender-neutral way so I went back a couple of weeks to find something a little longer that mixes the personal anecdotal with the pseudo-philosophical, figuring that was most representative, and was pleased to have my suspicions confirmed. Almost a 50-50 split, but still wrong: Female Score: 704 / Male Score: 760 I dare you to try and pick me up in a gender-bender bar and get it right, though I'll admit that plumbing isn't everything.
But to prove that I am definitely female I'm attaching a photo I scanned from Canadian House and Home magazine to give you some inspiration to collect small pieces of artwork and display them in cluster groupings. (No straight man would ever write a sentence that includes "display them in cluster groupings.") And if, by any weird chance, you happen to need small original pieces, Etsy is the place to go. Especially here. Was that subtle enough :). OK, no more shameless advertising for the next two weeks.
I'm off now to have my moustache waxed.

Every time I look at my lovely little penguin painting, I think I need something to cluster it with. :-) Maybe the next time I sell a piece of writing, I'll come shopping...

I did that yesterday and it told me that I was a man all the time which just confirms what I always suspected- I'm not feminine enough! In my case it's not even any use to wax my moustache!

I checked this one and it said it said you were a woman this time... mine have been coming out both ways too... maybe the programme isn't as good as they thought... it concertinas (the spell checker is insisting that that is what I meant and whom an I to argue with it) I mean it certainly can't make its mind up... so no doubt was written by a man - in my experience men are far less decisive than women... or maybe they just don't want to aruge with me :-)

Hmmmm... three tries and I seem to be kind of...manly. Hmmmph! Okay. That program is stupid. End of story.

And you, Andrea... you're just 100% a phenomenal woman!

Tried the blasted thing three times with over 500 word count -- male, male and male!!! Anon have been trying to convince me that I am a pretty girl -- no use now. I will, however, keep my mustachios and my writing as it is for the time being... but promise to use "clustered groupings" when possible. Ha!

O dear, I wonder. No, I don't. :-)
Having grown up with six brothers, I don't care which side I come up.

You gotta plan a visit to Vienna at about this time of the year (well, this particulare year, we are about three weeks ahead of schedule, so the peak of spring has almost passed, today was a pleasant summer's day, 24°). Fall is also beautiful, if the weather plays along, and then Christmastime for me is magical, even though I hear again and again that natives think of it as grey in grey. Maybe I should give them the link to my blog? Or am I grey-blind? *grin*
Have a great Sunday.

The Gender Genie thinks the author of this passage is: drunk!

I know that my testosterone levels are half of what they were when I was 20 but sheesh..
actually I think that this is a good thing.
It verifies that I am in touch with my kinder gentler side..pffft!

I'm glad that there isn't a Charming or Tedious Genie!

i don't care what my gender level is and i'm so far behind in visiting my blogger friends, i'm foregoing this test and instead commenting on the calmness of the cluster pictures. i love putting small frames together. except sometimes i make holes in the wall where they shouldn't be.
hope all is well andrea. it's spring here and i'm blossoming along with my little flowering trees.

I love cluster groupings like that and I've tried I've tried it but just with photos. I'm not sure I'm ready to mix it up just yet. Hmmm... and now I'm off to see if I'm really a man.

Ha! If you're blogging like a girly-boy, I'm blogging like a she-male (or, well, never mind).

HE says my blog's all for women, and on my three latest posts I came up female 600-288, male 772-287 and male 1232-1048.

As for the interior design cluster thingy, I think I'll just stick to my super Andrea works of art on my walls.

Ahnold would be displeased because I come off a girly-man. Come to think of it, so would my wife be displeased with my 125 females as opposed to 75 male.
I guess I'll have to keep trying until a get it right.

I tried this on a few, half the time it says male, half female. When I have more time I'm going to run it through several posts and see if they look different to me. Interesting stuff!

OK, so what would you do with this particular design challenge:

I have a blank wall in the living room. A BIG blank wall. The room is, like, 625 sq. ft., and is square-shaped. Two walls are all windows and a door. One is covered with bookshelves, giant tv, and a doorway to the hearthroom.

And then there's Big Blank Wall. I have nothing up on it, yet, because I can't figure out what to put there. It's got a chair-rail about 1/3 up from the floor. All that space confounds me much more that small, quirky spaces.

Belinda: I say a series of same-size paintings or framed artwork -- hung evenly at the same height. Not too busy -- just enough to draw you over to take a closer look.
