pet peeves

Pet peeves -- you can't escape them. They invade every aspect of daily life.

My pet peeve is the pot calling the kettle black. That would be like me criticizing people who are late -- four days late for Illustration Friday!

Now that it's done, though, I may have to waste time elsewhere.

You would love Plankton on Sponge Bob!

I only dish it out to other bloggers who I know will hold back on their punches...
'cause I am a total scaredy-cat.

Ha ha! Very cute - if all pet peeves were like that, I'd want several around.

Four days late? That means it's Wednesday over here...
(the little snaily thing reminds me of Caro's "helmet!" )

These are wonderful, Andrea! They remind me of Mad Magazines "Horrifying Cliches" - a feature they had way back in the day when I was a kid - did you ever see them? They were illustrations oc cliches as monsters, and they were really quite funny. I'm having a hard time picking a favorite of the four you've done - they are all really funny!

Caroline and Van Dyke: Thanks. :)

Donn: Oh yeah? Just catch me with PMS and then you'll regret it forever! :)

Citizen: In that case, I hope your vacuum cleaner has good suction!

Dinah: You Down Underers always were more advanced than we North Americans.

Carla: Thanks for the blast from the past! One look at the words "horrifying cliches" reminded me that cliche was a word I'd never heard before getting hold of Mad so I pronounced it, in my head, "horrifying clitches." Mafia was another I first read in Mad. For years I thought it was Muh-FYE-uh. :) I catch my older son, who has been an avid reader since preschool, doing the same.

Jan: ?

Ian: Just one of the many guises of peeves!

Albina: Love your comment. Love your comment. (Love your comment.)

Casdok: Three times please! :)

Chocolate: You've been peeking!

Melody: Thanks.

Michelle: Good one! And I'm so glad they arrived OK -- I'm always stressed when sending glass.

Andrea: There are three boys here and have been thoroughly schooled in toilet usage. :) (You sound like someone, like me, who's been there!)

I was mesmerized enough by the video. If the click had been to the game itself, well, I'd still be there.

Today is one of those days when I am intimately aware of my pet peeves. Does that tell you anything. Well I certainly won't bore you with that. But I do enjoy your drawings. I love how the toilet is 'kneeling.' And yes, plenty of males around to get that one. I demand you do more teapots and cups. There is possibility there for you. I'll have to take a picture of this cute teapot I have that looks like a pink knapsack. Doesn't that give you some ideas?

These are great! Your ink drawings are so full of fun and just a little tongue-in-cheek. Love them. (What's the teapot and cup one though? Am I just being daft?)

rebecca: Thanks for visiting and commenting!

Jan: Aha! Got it.

San: Thanks. :)

Molly: Tea. I hear there's a whole culture around that. Then there are the Japanse.

HMBT: Yes! I *so* agree with you.

Nadine: To tell the truth, I just drew pictures with pet peeves all over them. I didn't actually have a reason behind each one. I guess that makes me the flaky, dull-witted artiste, eh? :)
