feeding the techno monster

photo of our neighbours' shed roof from our kitchen window taken a couple of days ago and then photoshopped to within an inch of its life

I've been tinkering and discovered how to add the Etsy shops of my favourite artists to my Bloglines page. I experienced some frustration at first because nothing happened when I tried to subscribe using the RSS FEED button on the Etsy page and then my Sub with Bloglines bookmark on the subsequent feed/code page. I discovered that if I copied the URL of the code page and then used the add option above my feeds on my Bloglines page it worked. Now I know when Etsy shops are updated! Techno-boob that I am, I'm still trying to figure out the finer points of feeds, though, so any suggestions welcomed by those who know a more direct line to feed subscription. If you don't have any suggestions, then may I subliminally suggest you subscribe to a couple of Etsy pages anyway...

So I'm curious how do you like Etsy?
You can email me.

I recently switched to the new blogger and found that using RSS feeds was a lot easier to do. There is a lot of additional work, however, trying to get all of your previous template changes back.

Toni: I find Etsy to be way better than eBay, not that I actually figured out the eBay monster properly.

Brian: I tried to make the switch but Blogger Beta *rejected* me. I feel so inadequate.

i wish i were a techno-boob. instead, i'm destined to never know the difference between upload and download. i'm impressed with the jargon alone in this post, andrea. what a multi-faceted woman you are....

Are you kidding?!!! I work in Iinformation Technology and I did not get half of what you were saying. You should come and write clinical rules with me! You will be very good. On second thought, I want to keep my job so keep doing what you are doing. :-)

The photograph is magnificent. I have been reading about photoshop a lot. I may want to tinker with it someday.

KJ: What's lower than a techno-boob? A techno-worm?

Blackdaisies: By the time I'd finished with the original photo it was more than 10 MB and Blogger and Flickr wouldn't load it!

Ces: I still feel like a neophyte. I would love to learn to do digital collage myself, like Caroline of Caro's Lines. One day maybe...

Andrea, this is a bit (actually a lot) off the topic but one things been bugging me - 'didrooglie' what does it mean?!

Andrea: It's a nickname, given to me years ago, and lifted -- wrongly -- from a David Bowie song (Suffragette City): "Didrooglie, don't crash here..."

Oh dear...I'm confused.Again. But I can answer one question...a dinahmow is lower than a techno-boob!(And I always thought that was someone who'd had silicone implants!)
Not knowing what RSS feeds and burners and things are, I'm scared to touch them in case I cause a crash!
Hell! I still have trouble with making a link!
But this blog is always my first read of the day, so stick with it, please.
Nice shed , by the way!

I wanted to have a closer look at your neighbour's shed so I Google Earthed it. Yep, there it is. It's the neighbours to the northwest of you, right?
Hey, you have a lot of neighbours with swimming pools. You really ought to get to know them. :)
Is that stalking?

word verification: WOWTH...is that an ordinal number?

Dinah: You kill me! Anyone looking at me would know that I don't have techno-boobs!

Brian: It's colloquial for 1 000 000 000th. And yes re. the shed. Did you also notice that we have the biggest house on the street (not counting the duplex 5 or 6 houses down) because of our weird addition? (No, actually it's because we are VASTLY SUPERIOR BEINGS.)It makes a cookie-cutter 1960s bungalow a little more unique you might say. We went to a party at the house with the pool three houses up on Boxing Day. Finally got to see *their* addition. We're on an old hydro easement hence the really deep backyards.

Gads. I thnk we *both* need to get back to work...

You'd probably have to pay about $400.000.00 for your house now, even though it's a cookie cutter 1960's bungalo.
You could buy a "Movie Star" type house in Niverville for that amount.

What kind of a tube do you put techno-boobs in?

Hope you have a wonderful start to the new year Andrea!

Brian: You're close. Shockingly, add another $50K. (Fortunately we paid less than half that but unfortunately still have most of it to pay off...) The same house inside Vancouver city limits, in a slummy neighbourhood, would cost almost twice that. I'm moving to Niverville so my kids can have half a chance.

Caroline: A tube station! And thank you -- hope you do, too!

i didn't have any trouble moving to new blogger except that people couldn't leave comments for awhile. now it seems cleared up - the feed thing is a mystery to me. should go bug hubster about that one.

What a very interesting image. I can imagine this being a close up of leaves with lichen and decay.

Sorry, don't know about etsy. GL!
