I always thought Betty Boop was some kind of tailess rodent ... this makes her look more so... maybe because in the days when I lived in the country I was more likely to come across a rodent's skeleton than anything else...

This reminds me of the picture that Duncan (Elias Koteas)draws in detention in "Some Kind of Wonderful".

He shows it to Keith (Eric Stoltz) and says, "This is what my girlfriend would look like without skin".
