group dynamics

group dynamics

This is the last of the four little landscapes for the Christmas show in Victoria. I've started trying to paint something similar to my white-on-black drawings. It's all new territory for me so may be a disaster. Meantime, it's fun to experiment.

This must look really effective in real life, hung on a wall - it made me catch my breath when I discovered by chance that it suddenly springs to life and becomes almost 3D when viewing the larger Flickr image from about 8 feet away. It also happens to be very similar to a spot I know in the Lake District and so it's very easy for me to connect with the "being there" feeling with this one. Lovely!

I love the light on the bottom leaves. As Andy says, the larger picture is amazing!
Whereabouts in the Lakes?

The light in this is gorgeous! The leaves seem to almost move...everything is so strong and alive. Such beauty you create, Andrea.

been in the "Seven Group". Not sure of their name in English...

Close! It's "Group of Seven" in English. Definitely an influential mark on we lowly latecomers/pretenders to the landscape mode.

I'm glad for the comments on the light -- thanks all. I had a little trouble getting it "just right" so I'm happy that it works. (and btw Andy, it's only 10" x 10" so it's pretty tiny, but as I continued the painting around the 1.5" deep edges you can be in the other room and still see it :)

Lovely....if only the world were as pretty as this and we could become animated figures like the ones in Yellow Submarine....if I ever say that I am like that, suggest that I have my meds adjusted, OK? :D

You are every artist's dream! :) Thank you for the kind words -- and I always especially love it when other artists like my work. If I inspire -- so much the better!

(You can get a gecko t shirt at my cafepress store... oops! Did I just advertise myself again?)
