procrastination in the 'burbs
(This monolith looks remarkably like a huge, blank canvas staring accusingly down on my lazy arse.)
I know, I know -- I've been making pedantic, long-winded posts lately and probably driving away those who prefer to read the pictures. (They're probably hanging out here now.) My excuses: (a) I've had no inspiration and (b) even less time+ to actually paint. Seems I can write (and my web-surfing is truly inspired) but can't paint when I only have small time bytes. Well, June is over and I should be able to kick this farking virus now that I have the time to rest. Regularly-scheduled programming will resume shortly.
+footy games, four birthdays, wrap-up parties for band and footy, 'grade seven graduation' ceremony and activities, a gallery reception, band concerts, a parade, and a house-warming party

Love your word adaptation, "bytes". *chuckle*
I wished I could write, when I have only small byts and pyeces at my disposition.
Loved your account of the cut out quotes! Sometimes I feel like I have a handicap, what with having this need of visually processing texts. I have tried to type my notes as word documents on the computer (I am a fast typer, so this would work well for me), but no, I need to scan and highlight and underline and actually cut out and past and whatnot. I also love to write longhand, I feel I can collect my thoughts better that way, so even though it seems to take more time than typing, at the end, I am sure, I get to the point faster.
Had I handwritten this comment .... *smile*
that's is exactly how I feel!
I know how this feel! I have been feeling like this since February. That is a long time!
Summer is one long race to the finish line. Can't get anything done that actually matters to me.
Tsk. That's no excuse.
Seriously, though, I know exactly what you mean. If I had a longer chunk of time I would most definitely be writing something book-like, as opposed to short blog posts that feed my immediate need to create something. Alas, the day-to-day grind is a killer.
Oh and I love the cartoon. It just says it all.
Hey, my web surfing is truly inspired too - especially when I'm 'supposed to be' painting! hehe
Well, that's pretty much the story of my week of vacation that was supposed to be about painting and ended up being way too much about the computer. I can definitely relate and wrote a post today in a similar theme. Here's to July and feeling better! By the way, the cartoon is so perfect I'm going to post it on my bulletin board as a reminder!
Great cartoon - and so accurate. :-p I shall not bore you with my lists of monolithic life...
love the cartoons
hahahahahahaha!
me....this is me...
Great cartoon!
I've had the virus for awhile now! I could have sworn that I commented on your "hoarder" post, and can't find it anywhere. I think I sometimes get lost in the links. (which are all good by the way).
Lost in Links could be my new theme song. Must sing it to melody of the similar Air Supply version.
Merisi: So you totally get it. I have moved on (and my typing has vastly improved!) and I actually do it better with a keyboard now -- but I sure process texts visually still. Must be why I'm sich a gud spller.
Ziggi, Ces and Bronwyn: Maybe we need to form a 12 step group or something...
Corine: The business of living is such an impediment to Real Work, isn't it?
Alda: All you need to do is make a book from your blog posts. Highly readable!!
Jana: Check out the blog. There's not a lot there but what he's done is highly relatable.
Tara: Dang it, woman. You make us (well, me) look bad! :)
Caroline and Caty: What I said to Jana.
Cynthia: I could kill you! Now that !@#@!? song will haunt me for the rest of the day! :) (technical name for that annoying phenomenon: ear worm!)
Sounds like you've had the same kind of month I've had. So far though, the virus hasn't found me.
Exactly my life, sometimes...
