OK, so my choice for Illustration Friday is not very imaginative. I should've challenged myself with something like ethereal, exponential or even empty. But time is tight and this is the latest painting for the upcoming landscape show. I'm trying to stick to a local winter theme. This is called West Coast Winter Twilight, and depicts the wild west coast of Vancouver Island.
The BoBs are here. To support your favourite blog in any of 20 categories, vote here. I've discovered some really good stuff during my casual perusal of the past few days. When I have more time I want to take a closer look. I also discovered artforum.com today. There are other arts news pages on the web but this one is better than most.
This is beautiful and so evocative of a cold evening ocean shoreline. I love your fluid lines. the highlights, colors, well everything! I live near the ocean too and much of our shore looks like this.
ReplyDeleteStunning, Andrea! I always say the same thing, but i am always blown away by your rendering of light. Your painting below of the the path and trees has the same effect on me. I would love to see these is person:>

ReplyDeleteLovely evening, Andrea!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely beautiful! and to imagine the wild west coast of vancouver-wow--i really have to be there soon!
ReplyDeleteI love being able to feel the Winter from your image. You'll get my vote :)
ReplyDeleteCan most certainly tell that it is dusk (I know dusk starts with "d" and not "e" but I'm a contrarian). You have most distinctive style, especially the way you do the outlines of shapes/subject. Excellent (now I'm not quite so contrarian)
